Security settings overview: what each item means
Security settings overview
The Security page is where you protect your BYNAI account. It lists your sign-in protection, your withdrawal protection and the devices signed in to your account.
Where to find it
Open My Account from the menu on the left, then choose Security (Security). The page title is "Security" and the subtitle is "Manage your account security settings". Withdrawal whitelist settings are in Settings (see the whitelist article).
Security Checkup
At the top you see a card called Security Checkup with three items:
- Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
- Anti-Phishing Code
- Fund Password
An item with a green check mark is already set up. An item with a warning triangle is not set up yet and has a Set up link next to it that opens the setup window directly.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) section
The text under the heading is "Protect your account and withdrawals with Passkeys and/or security keys." Three rows are shown:
| Row | What it shows | Button |
|---|---|---|
| Authenticator App | On or Off | Set up (when Off) or Manage (when On) |
| your masked email, or "Not linked"; status Verified or Not Verified | Manage (change your email) | |
| Phone Number | your masked phone number, or "Not linked"; status Verified, Not Verified or Not Linked | Manage (add or change your phone number) |
Advanced Security section
The description is "Additional security measures to protect your account." Rows:
- Password - "Used to sign in to your account." Button Manage. Accounts that sign in with a Web3 wallet do not see this row because they have no BYNAI password.
- Fund Password - "Additional password required for withdrawals and transfers." Status Enabled or Not Set; button Set up or Manage.
- Anti-Phishing Code - "Set a code to identify official emails from BYNAI." Status Enabled (your code is shown next to it) or Not Set; button Set up or Manage.
Below these sections you also see the Device Management list and, when it applies, the Security Cooldown Active notice.
Status labels
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| On / Off | Authenticator App 2FA is active or not |
| Enabled / Not Set | Fund Password or Anti-Phishing Code exists or not |
| Verified / Not Verified | Your email or phone number has been verified or not |
| Not Linked / "Not linked" | No email or phone number is attached to your account |
Security verification
Sensitive actions (turning 2FA off, setting an Anti-Phishing Code, changing your password, setting or changing the fund password, withdrawals, and whitelist changes) ask you to complete a "Security Verification" first. See the verification codes article for every message and what to do.
FAQ
Q: I do not see a Password row. A: Your account signs in with a Web3 wallet. On your profile the app explains: "This account signs in with a Web3 wallet. Linked email/phone are for verification and notifications only."
Q: Why does the page say "Not Verified" next to my phone number? A: A number is attached but its verification was not completed. Open Manage next to Phone Number and complete the verification code step.
Q: I changed a security setting and now withdrawals are restricted. A: See the withdrawal cooldown article. Some security changes start a temporary withdrawal restriction.
Q: Where do I turn on the withdrawal whitelist? A: In Settings, in the Withdrawal card ("Withdrawal Whitelist"). It is not on the Security page.
